DESCRIPTION:
The Chapter Governors Committee strengthens member recruitment and retention at the chapter level. The committee is responsible for oversight of an assigned chapter territory and the development of its chapter leaders.

DELIVERABLES AND ACCOUNTABILITY:
  • Supports growth of chapters and chapter leadership in strategic, operational, succession and transition planning
  • Encourages networking and facilities collaboration across chapters and chapter leadership
  • Raises awareness of existing formal and informal barriers to chapter success within the Society and makes recommendation to the Leadership Council
  • Makes recommendations to the Board of Directors regarding the Society's dues and assessments and policies
  • Manages and recommends modifications to the configuration of the Society's chapter territories and regions
  • Chapter Governors are encouraged to visit chapters within their territory
  • The Chapter Governor Committee is accountable to the Leadership Council
  • Chapter Governors meet virtually at least four (4) times per year in person at the In2Risk meeting and the Leadership Summit
TERMS: 
Each Chapter Governor on the committee serves a three (3) year term. At the discretion of the Nominating Committee, a member may have the option to maintain this position for three (3) additional one year terms, if all responsibilities have been met and he/she fulfills the needs of the Chapter Governors Committee. No member may serve more than two (2) terms or six (6) years.

QUALIFICATIONS: 
  • A current, active CPCU Society member 
  • Has extensive chapter service
  • Interest in contributing strategically on chapter-facing initiatives
  • Desire to recruit and retain members
  • Desire to coach chapter leadership on chapter-facing initiatives and personal growth
  • Must be able to self-fund attendance and registration at the Leadership Summit and In2Risk meeting
  • Must be able to attend Regional Chapter Leader Meetings, if offered, and conduct local chapter visits
  • Ability to work independently, in a group and virtually to complete deliverables as required by the Society
