Signup Deadline: 01-09-2025
Starts: 03-01-2025
Ends: 05-30-2025
Location: Online Opportunity

Description:

Through the new Course Coach mentoring program, a student or candidate taking a CPCU core course (500-540) will be matched with a volunteer Course Coach (that’s you!) who holds the completed CPCU and some familiarity with the course content.

On a quarterly schedule aligned with testing windows, matched students and coaches will meet virtually three times per quarter for one hour each. The video calls will be scheduled by the coach and student at a mutually convenient time. Coaches will follow a suggested outline of what to cover in each meeting.

For best results, the mentor should have some domain knowledge in the coursework topic (general insurance/leadership, insurance operations, law, or finance)  as well as general mentorship support.

For this opportunity, a working camera and microphone for virtual meetings is needed.

This opportunity is for coaching to take place throughout March, April and May 2025. This is a pilot program and may be repeated in future quarters.

CPCU in Good Standing credit can be awarded for volunteers in this program who may self-report up to 4 credit hours per quarter (maximum 6 credits per two-year cycle).

Commitment:

-Review the updated CPCU core course content (available for free to all Society members who have completed the CPCU)

-Meet with matched student/candidate three times over the quarter for one hour each

-Provide support and encouragement for the student to complete the coursework and take the exam in the designated test window (4/15 – 6/15)

The Society will offer volunteer coaching on the following core courses of the revised CPCU, updated in 2023. Learn more about each current course through the links below. Current CPCU Society members have free access to these CPCU course materials as a member benefit.
