Triple Threat: Shock Verdicts, Social Inflation, Bad Faith
(In2Risk 2025 Replay)

Presenters: Timothy Fletcher, JD, CPCU and Laura Gregory, JD, CPCU

May 28, at 2 p.m. ET

Join Tim Fletcher, Senior Emerging Issues Specialist at Gen Re, and Laura Gregory, Attorney at Lynch & Lynch, as they examine the growing intersection of social inflation and bad faith litigation, including a review of how shock verdicts and excess-of-limits settlements are reshaping claims exposure for carriers. This session will investigate the motivations driving bad faith claims and the societal forces fueling legal system abuse, then explore how shifting public attitudes toward the insurance industry are influencing jury behavior and plaintiff strategies. Practical steps carriers can take to avoid and mitigate bad faith exposure will be shared, with a focus on operational best practices that serve as effective safeguards. The session will also address how internal claims handling dynamics can either protect carriers from or contribute to viable bad faith claims.

This webinar is a replay of a popular session from In2Risk 2025 in New Orleans from November 3-5. We hope this replay will get you excited about In2Risk 2026 in Las Vegas, October 19-21! Make sure you save the date!
