Elizabeth A. Carter, Ph.D., CPCU, is vice president, clinical strategy execution and business operations in the Enterprise Clinical Organization for Highmark Health in Pittsburgh, PA.
Dr. Carter has more than 25 years’ experience in the insurance industry, having held financial roles at Allstate, The Hartford, AIG, and Farmers Insurance. During that time, she had direct responsibilities the areas of corporate finance, product management, technology, sales and distribution, and market segments. She has a unique passion for financial acumen and knowledge empowerment that has provided her the opportunity to lead, mentor and develop others in the areas of strategy, financial analysis, and performance improvement. Her 2017 transition from property-casualty to healthcare allowed her to widen her insurance knowledge.
Elizabeth has been an active volunteer with the CPCU Society since receiving her designation in 2004 and has held positions on the boards of the Connecticut, Atlanta, and Brandywine Valley Chapters. At the Society level, Dr. Carter has been the co-chair of the Diversity Committee, the chair of the 2013 Annual Meeting Committee, has served on the Nominating Committee and was chair of the Volunteer Engagement Task Force. She is currently a member of the Leadership Council.
Dr. Carter holds a PhD in education, specializing in training and performance improvement. She is also a keynote speaker, certified trainer, 6X Best-Selling Author, and Distinguished Toastmaster.

Maria Brown, MBA, CIC, CPCU

Maria Brown is associate vice president of commercial farm ranch underwriting and operations at American Family Insurance. She is responsible for providing strategic leadership for all elements of the commercial farm ranch operation.
Maria found love for insurance early on in her career and has more than 24 years of experience in the industry. Her work includes both personal and commercial underwriting, sales, agency operations, and business transformation. Maria is a CPCU and CIC. She recently joined the Maryland chapter of the CPCU Society and is looking forward to getting involved in her local community.
Maria received a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management from Virginia Commonwealth University and an MBA from Strayer University.

Rachel Perry, MBA, CPCU
Chief Innovation Officer - Commercial Risk Solutions, North America
Aon
Rachel Perry is the chief innovation officer for Aon’s North America Commercial Risk Solutions. In this role, she leads risk innovation and works closely with key external and internal stakeholders to meet unmet client needs and growth.
Rachel has held several positions since joining Aon in September 2012. Most recently, she was the market leader and managing director for Aon’s Atlanta market, responsible for strategy, financial performance, growth, and client retention across commercial risk, health, and wealth. In January 2017, Rachel became the commercial risk leader, leading a team of account executives focused on strategic advice, client service, and growth. She started as the southeast region casualty leader at Aon in 2012. Before moving to Aon, Rachel spent 19 years with Marsh in their New York, New Jersey, and Atlanta offices. While there, she held several senior roles, including casualty practice leader and client executive for large multinational firms. Rachel began her insurance career in 1993.
Rachel’s offers diverse expertise including leadership, strategy, client service delivery, financial acumen, operational and casualty technical expertise working with various clients. She also has experience working with clients in various industries, including retail/wholesale, food and beverage, manufacturing, and higher education.
Rachel earned her MBA from Coles Business School at Kennesaw State University. She received her bachelor’s in business administration, majoring in risk management and insurance, from the University of Georgia. She holds a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters (CPCU) designation. She is the chair of OnBoard, Inc. She also serves on the University of Georgia Terry College of Business Alumni Board and the Regional Business Coalition of Metro Atlanta, Inc.

Danielle Stewart, MBA, CPCU
National Head of Wholesale Distribution

Danielle Stewart currently serves as the national head of wholesale distribution for Everest Insurance, where she and her team are responsible for managing the company’s wholesale channel relationships, building and executing on a strategy to deliver Everest’s unique product portfolio to a valued wholesale customer base. Prior to joining Everest, Danielle served over a decade at Liberty Mutual Insurance across multiple roles and geographies including underwriting, field distribution, leadership and corporate strategy positions. Danielle earned her undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina and her MBA from Emory University in Atlanta. She currently resides in Los Angeles, CA though she spends much of her time in the friendly skies.
