Thursday, May 11

11:00am – 12:30pm ET
Natural Catastrophe: Resilience, Resistance, or Resolve?

Catastrophes now cause around $123 billion in insured losses globally on an average annual basis. Rising exposure values and replacement costs, natural variability, climate change, and “man-made loss drivers” such as social inflation are driving the increase in annual CAT losses. The South East and South Central US are of considerable concern due to reductions in capacity and controversial legislation. These developments have led to a difficult reinsurance renewal season, although some carriers see opportunity within chaos. Our panelists will address the issue of new technologies in cat modeling, the latest market actions in windstorm-prone geographies, as well as the market outlook for 2023.

2:00pm - 3:30pm ET
Active Shooter Liability - An Update

Our Symposium of 2020 addressed the issue of Active Shooter Liability. Since then, the activity in this area has had a marked increase in both frequency and severity. Our panelists will bring attendees up to date on the latest legal actions, market conditions, coverages, and risk management actions applicable to a variety of exposure scenarios.
